1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hikvision Installer Directory website at hikinstaller.com ("the Platform"). By using the Platform, whether you are a visitor browsing the directory, a customer submitting an enquiry, or an installer with a listing, you agree to these Terms.

The Platform is operated by Metserve Media. References to "we", "us", and "our" mean the Platform operator. References to "you" and "your" mean any user of the Platform.

2. What the Platform is (and isn't)

The Platform is a directory that connects customers with independent third-party installers of Hikvision security equipment. We do not install equipment ourselves, do not employ the listed installers, and are not party to any contract a customer enters into with an installer.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. or any of its subsidiaries. The Hikvision name and logo are trademarks of Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and are used here for descriptive purposes only.

3. Eligibility

To register an installer listing you must:

  • be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into contracts on behalf of your business;
  • operate a legitimate installation business based in or serving the United Kingdom;
  • hold valid Hikvision installer training or certification;
  • hold current Public Liability Insurance covering your installation work; and
  • provide accurate, up-to-date contact and business details.

4. Accounts and listings

When you register a listing you create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account. You must let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may verify the credentials and documents you submit. Listings remain in a "pending" state until we have completed that verification. We may decline to publish a listing, or remove an existing listing, if we are not satisfied with the supporting documents or if we believe the listing breaches these Terms.

5. Membership plans and payment

Installer listings are offered on two plans: a Free Listing, provided at no charge, and a paid Pro Membership with a monthly and an annual billing option. Current pricing is shown on the registration page. Annual Pro billing is charged for 11 months in lieu of 12 (one month free). No payment details are collected for a Free Listing.

Pro Membership payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your selected payment method on the cycle you have chosen. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable.

You may upgrade to Pro, or cancel your Pro Membership, at any time from your installer dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date and we do not provide pro-rata refunds for unused time except where required by UK consumer law.

If a renewal payment fails, or you cancel your Pro Membership, your listing reverts to the free tier: it remains in the public directory, but paid features (customer enquiries, photo gallery, reviews, priority placement, and analytics) are withdrawn until an active Pro subscription is restored.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • provide false, misleading, or impersonated information about your business, certifications, or insurance;
  • use the Platform to send spam, scrape data, or harvest contact details of other users;
  • upload images, logos, or documents that you do not have the right to use, or that contain offensive, illegal, or infringing content;
  • interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, its servers, or other accounts;
  • use the Platform in a way that breaches any law or regulation that applies to you.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached this section.

7. Customer reviews

Customers may submit reviews of installers they have used. All reviews are moderated before publication. We reserve the right to refuse or remove reviews that we reasonably believe are fake, defamatory, off-topic, or otherwise breach these Terms or applicable law. We do not edit the content of legitimate reviews; an installer that disputes a review may contact us with evidence and we will consider it in good faith.

8. Enquiries between customers and installers

When a customer submits an enquiry through the Platform, the message and the customer's contact details are forwarded to the relevant installer. Any subsequent contract for installation work is between the customer and the installer alone. We are not a party to that contract, do not handle payments between you, and are not responsible for the work the installer carries out, the equipment they supply, or any dispute that arises.

9. Content you provide

You retain ownership of the company name, description, logos, gallery images, and other content you upload. By uploading it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize, and distribute that content on the Platform for as long as your listing is active, plus a reasonable archival period afterwards.

You confirm that you own (or have permission to use) everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

10. Our content and trademarks

The Platform itself (its design, code, copy, and structure) belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright. You may not copy, frame, mirror, reverse-engineer, or republish material from the Platform without our written permission, except for the listing content you have published yourself.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Platform available and accurate but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, improve, or remove features at any time. We may also change these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that:

  • the Platform is provided on an "as is" basis without any warranty as to fitness for a particular purpose;
  • we are not responsible for the work, conduct, products, or representations of installers listed on the Platform;
  • our total liability to any installer in any 12-month period will not exceed the subscription fees that installer has actually paid us in that period;
  • we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or purely economic loss, lost profit, lost goodwill, or loss of data.

13. Indemnity

If your use of the Platform, or any content you upload, leads to a third-party claim against us, you agree to indemnify us against the reasonable costs and damages of that claim, except to the extent the claim arises from our own breach of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Termination

You may close your installer account at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we close down a part of the Platform that you rely on. On termination your listing will be removed from the public directory; we may retain a record of your account for legal and accounting purposes in line with our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers based elsewhere in the United Kingdom retain any rights to bring proceedings in their local courts that they cannot lawfully give up.
